Jerry helps Rebecca slim down Since signing on to star in X-Men
3, Rebecca Romijn has been working to get in shape with the help of
an unlikely trainer: boyfriend Jerry O'Connell. The two have been
seen running side-by-side on treadmills at fitness guru David Barton's
gym in New York. Jerry wants Rebecca to make her third turn as Mystique
her best, but she's not taking all of his advice! "Jerry likes
to use all of the gym's resources -- including weights, yoga and the
machines -- but Rebecca only likes the treadmill," an insider
reveals.

Charlie isn't the only O'Connell who's happy in love. Brother Jerry
and girlfriend Rebecca Romijn, who've been together almost a year,

dined on lobster rolls and shared a romantic moment watching the sun
set on the eatery's deck.

KEEPS HIS HOME NEAT AFTER WINFREY MAKEOVER
Actor JERRY O'CONNELL is reluctant to let his male friends into his
home, after OPRAH WINFREY updated his messy bachelor pad earlier this
year (05).
Winfrey commissioned
her favourite designer NATE BERKUS to revamp O'Connell's college dorm-style
home and filmed the results for an installment of her popular chat
show.
And the KANGAROO
JACK star admits that since the makeover, he's become a bit of a neat
freak.
He says,
"I don't like my guy friends going in there. They don't use coasters.
I make everybody pick up their shoes. If I eat off a plate, I immediately
wash it."
O'Connell
admits his girlfriend REBECCA ROMIJN is now the only one he can trust
in his home.

ROMIJN
GIVES O'CONNELL TIPS
8/19/2005
Kangaroo
Jack star JERRY O'CONNELL was so nervous when he initially landed
his gig as the face of Perry Ellis clothing, he asked his girlfriend
REBECCA ROMIJN for modelling tips.
O'Connell,
31, graces billboard and magazines in ads for the fashion giant, but
his 32-year-old ex-model lover helped give him the confidence boost
he needed to take on the project.
He says,
"I was nervous (about posing) at first, but because Rebecca used
to model, she was like, 'Don't be afraid - it'll be cool. Just make
sure you smile.'
"We
actually practiced!"

The Genius of Jerry O'Connell
August 11,
2005
Dear Dexter
Dear Dexter,
Did you know
that Vern is Cush? That is, the very same actor (Jerry O'Connell)
who played everyone's favorite chubby whipping boy in Stand By Me
then morphed, 10 years later, into the great Frank Cushman -- the
ballyhooed Texas quarterback who Jerry Maguire lost to Bob Sugar the
night before the draft. Can you think of any others like him? What
makes him so special?
Dear Rod
& Marcy,
Am I Dexter
or am I Heloise? Of course I know that Vern became Cush. The metamorphosis
of Jerry O'Connell from chubbo ( Stand By Me ) to adolescent superhero
( My Secret Identity ) to trans-dimensional genius scientist-hero
( Sliders ) to ethically challenged Texan quarterback ( Jerry Maguire
) to gruesomely murdered fratboy boyfriend ( Scream 2 ) to morose,
six-pack swilling ex-BMOC sage ( Can't Hardly Wait ) to affable Boston
detective with a hankerin' for Jill Hennessy ( Crossing Jordan ) is
one of the great inter-textual journeys in modern mass media.
There are
plenty of child actors who've made a respectable transition to adulthood
-- Jason Bateman, Elijah Wood, Jodie Foster, Rick Shroder, Alyssa
Milano, Anthony Michael Hall -- but there's something about O'Connell
that makes his journey different, yellow, special. It's the sublime
fusion of his mediocrity as an actor and the cultural centrality of
his roles. How can an actor so staggeringly mediocre have managed
to slide into so many seminal pop cultural moments?
I'll proffer
two answers. The first is that he's very, very likeable. Like Drew
Barrymore -- another kiddie actor made good -- O'Connell is cute,
funny, gawky and unthreatening in just the right proportions. He's
the guy on the football team who was still nice to the nerds and the
fat girls in high school, the frat boy who prevents his brothers from
taking advantage of the passed out high schooler on her pre-college
tour, the straight guy who can unselfconsciously make sex jokes with
his gay friends.
The other
answer is that he's pretty wise, or has been managed by someone wise.
Wisdom makes as big a difference in managing a Hollywood career as
it does in any other career, perhaps more. (If you want conclusive
evidence of this, compare Keanu Reeves, a dismal actor who's starred
in many excellent movies, to Cuba Gooding, Jr., a fantastic actor
who continues to find new ways to humiliate himself on screen and
who holds the distinction of being the only actor to star in the two
worst movies of a single year, a feat he achieved with his 2002 double-shot
of Boat Trip and Snow Dogs.) O'Connell's made shrewd choices, and
avoided some awful ones, Body Shots, Joe's Apartment and Kangaroo
Jack notwithstanding.
