TV Land shifts
into high gear this Fall as it rolls out the premier of TV Land's
Top Ten Series. The newest installment, TV Land's Top Ten: TV Cars,
takes a look at which automobiles on television had the horsepower
to make the Top 10, and airs on Wednesday, October 20, at 10 p.m.
ET/PT. Check www.tvland.com for additional showtimes.
"Cars
play such a pivotal role in the storylines of most TV shows,"
explains Sal Maniaci, Vice President, Development and Production,
TV Land. "Not only do the best chase scenes in TV involve cars,
but who can forget Lucy and Ricky's road trip or K.I.T.T. on Knight
Rider. We've polled stars, critics, car designers, and NASCAR drivers
to find out which cars made their list."
The one-hour
episode cuts to the chase and highlights some of the most unique and
fascinating automobiles in television history -- from the Batmobile
featured in Batman and The General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard,
to the Koach car from The Munsters and the Striped Tomato on Starsky
and Hutch. It also features interviews with Hollywood notables George
Lopez, Tony Shaloub, Jerry O'Connell, Molly Sims, Blair Underwood,
Danny Bonaduce, Butch Patrick, Lewis Black, Paul Rodriguez, Gail O'Grady,
Tony Orlando, Donna Douglas, and others who lend their insight into
some of their favorite telvision cars. The series is produced by TV

FAT
SLAGS UK RELEASE
10/12/04
The British
comedy "Fat Slags" (featuring Jerry O'Connell and Geri Halliwell)
is to be released in UK theaters on Friday October 15th. However, according
to recent press the independent film will not have a star studded premiere.
Here is more information from contactmusic.com
and the mirror.co.uk.

FAT SLAGS
ALREADY A FLOP
British comedy
FAT SLAGS has been labelled a flop before even hitting cinemas in
Britain.
The movie,
based on the British comic strip of the same name, won't even have
a star-studded premiere - much to the horror of its stars JERRY O'CONNELL,
NAOMI CAMPBELL and GERI HALLIWELL.
The movie
was originally heralded as the British comedy of the summer but its
release was put back after negative screen tests. Now the film is
being released on Friday (15OCT04) with little fuss. Producers originally
said that there would be no premiere because the movie's stars are
unavailable, but that is not the reality.
An insider
says, "The truth is that no one wanted to spend thousands of
pounds promoting a turkey. A London premiere costs at least GBP50,000
($90,000) to GBP100,000 ($180,000) and there was no way good money
was going to be thrown after bad.
"Stars
such as Geri and Naomi weren't even aware it would be out this week
and there are many people who are privately wishing it had never been
made.
"Hardly
anyone is aware the film is coming out on Friday. The tactic has obviously
been to get it out there and hope for the best. Having a big premiere
would not only have wasted money, it would have drawn more attention
to what is, essentially, a poor movie.
"Many
critics haven't been made aware of the release, which again is very
unusual. The whole thing just smacks of embarrassment."
The film,
which stars British comediennes FIONA ALLEN and SANDRA THOMPSON in
the lead roles, was slammed by audiences at test screenings earlier
this year (04).

More pain
for love-split Geri as Viz movie looks set to flop
OH how Geri
Halliwell must be wishing she never signed up for the Fat Slags film
debacle. First, she starts dating co-star Jerry O'Connell, only for
them to split and for him to cruelly label the ex-Spice Girl a mere
"tour guide". And
now we hear the film, which also stars Naomi Campbell, James Dreyfus,
Ralph Little and Michael Greco, is so bad that its makers won't be
holding a premiere.
The movie,
which is based on the Viz comic strip, had been billed as the Brit
comedy of the summer. But it was held up after negative test screenings
and is now being quietly released on Friday, with no fanfare apart
from a few TV ads. Officially, distributors Entertainment Films claimed
that "none of the talent was available" for a premiere.
But we hear that stars including Geri and Naomi weren't even approached
about the possibility of attending. "The truth is that no one
wanted to spend thousands of pounds promoting a turkey," a film
insider tells us. "A
London premiere costs at least £50,000-£100,000 and there
was no way good money was going to be thrown after bad.
"Stars
such as Geri and Naomi weren't even aware it would be out this week
and there are many people who are privately wishing it had never been
made."
The
film, which stars Smack The Pony's Fiona Allen and Sandra Thompson
- sister of actress Emma - as maneaters Sandra and Tracey, received
a big thumbs-down from viewers at test screenings earlier this year.
"The humour is very childish, with few laugh-out-loud jokes,"
said one unimpressed viewer. "That's
fair enough but a large proportion of the people attending walked
out of the preview halfway through. Not a good sign." Another
said simply: "This is a terrible, terrible movie."
The film
was also delayed by extensive re-shoots. Even the ending was reportedly
filmed again, to make it more appealing. "Hardly anyone is aware
the film is coming out on Friday," the source continued. "The
tactic has obviously been to get it out there and hope for the best.
"Having
a big premiere would not only have wasted money, it would have drawn
more attention to what is, essentially, a poor movie. "Many critics
haven't been made aware of the release, which again is very unusual.
The whole thing just smacks of embarrassment."
When we contacted
Naomi's publicist he told us: "She wasn't aware the film was
coming out on Friday and she wasn't approached about any premiere."
A spokesperson
for the film said: "Yes, Fat Slags is out on Friday and there
won't be a premiere. It's an availability issue and I can't comment
further." Still,
at least Geri will be spared the embarrassment of having to face her
old flame on the red carpet.

JERRY'S
FEAR OF SHARKS?

This blurb
appeared at concactmusic.com
(Thanks to Raydelle for passing it along). It seems that this journalist
may have taken Jerry's joke on a recent talk show appearance too literally.
One of Jerry's interests is surfing (not exactly scuba diving). It's
doubtful he'd give that up after seeing a movie.

Jerry and Rebecca
are mentioned in the October 11th, 2004 issue of Star Magazine:
STAR PEOPLE
Romijn and
O'Connell's On-Set Romance
Things seem
to be still hot and heavy between Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell,
30. On Sept. 22, Romijn, 31, dressed in hip-hugger jeans and a skimpy
pink camisole, stopped by the set of O'Connell's TV show, Crossing
Jordan, to watch her beau of two months shoot a scene, says an eyewitness.
The minute O'Connell was done shooting, Romijn "wrapped her arms
around him and they headed back to his trailer," the eyewitness
says. The witness adds that he also "Looked absolutely besotted
with her." Romijn's estranged husband, John Stamos, filed for
divorce Aug. 19.
