GOSSIP FROM E! ONLINE
1/31/02
Jerry was recently mentioned in Ted Casablanca's
column "The
Awful Truth" at E! Online. (Thanks to Treksector for the news)
Here's what Ted had to say:
January 31,
2002
Jerry O'Connell,
sharing cocktails with a familial-type chica at the trendy West Hollywood
spot Jones. J.C. was killing time with his "date" while
waiting for another twosome, which turned out to be former Law &
Order sexpot Jill Hennessy. Dressed to kill in a rocker-chick combo
of leathuh pants and tight tank, the lawyer turned medical examiner
(on Crossing Jordan, natch) arrived with a dude on her (firm) arm.
The chummy foursome grabbed a table and ordered some pizza.

JERRY DOES THEATER - "WORLDLY ACTS"
1/27/02
Reuters reports that Jerry O'Connell will
be starring in a production of "The Homecoming" directed by
Adam Davidson. "Homecoming" is one of five short skits that
makes up the stage production "Worldly Acts" sponsored by
Francis Ford Coppola. Here is the information from Yahoo! News:
Jan 23 11:39
PM ET
It's a big
Friday for Adam Davidson, son of Judy and Gordon Davidson. The young
Davidson, Oscar winner for dramatic short subject ``The Lunch Date''
in 1991, directs one of the one-acts, ``The Homecoming,'' starring
Jennifer Grant (daughter of Cary Grant and Dyan Cannon) and Jerry
O'Connell, at the Tiffany.
Thanks
to Raydelle for passing this news along.
"The
Homecoming," written by Joe Borini, opened Jan. 24, 2002 and closes
March 3rd. The production plays Thursdays through Saturdays at 8:00
p.m. and Sundays at 7 p.m. Ticket prices for this 120-minute show are
$25 each. The Tiffany Theater is located at 8532 Sunset Blvd in West
Hollywood, California. For ticket info at: 310-289-2999.
A
review of the play can be read at : http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20020127/en/review-stageworldly_1.html.
Here is an excerpt from the review by Steven Oxman:
The
last piece, Joe Borini's ``Homecoming,'' is a comic skit about a sailor
returning home from WWII and becoming convinced, mistakenly, that
his wife has become a prostitute. Director Adam Davidson goes for
the broad approach, which allows Jerry O'Connell to hit entertaining
moments of arch exasperation.
But the piece never really surprises, and the misunderstandings are
too transparent to be more than mildly amusing, on the level of a
decent sitcom.
There's nothing especially worldly about the acts of ``Worldly Acts.''
While most of the pieces are in one way or another about couples,
they don't reflect off of one another thematically in any interesting
fashion. As a whole, the night is glueless and could probably be a
more unified theatrical experience if the actors played multiple roles.
As is, ``Worldly Acts'' isn't more than the sum of its parts. Some
parts are terrific, some are not, and that sums it up.
The
play is also mentioned at Zoetrope.com
