About the Cast
Jerry O'Connell (Joe) followed his work on "Joe's Apartment" with a role in the sports comedy "Jerry Maguire" opposite Tom Cruise. O'Connell can also currently be seen as the lead in Fox's science-fiction series "Sliders."
Born and raised in New York City, O'Connell graduated from New York Universitiy's Tisch School of th Arts, where he majored in film and served as captain of the men's sabre team, an avocation he continues today. O'Connell always knew he wanted to be an actor and as a youngster appeared as an extra in "Hannah and Her Sisters." His first feature starring role came as one of the youths on a coming-of-age adventure in Rob Reiner's "Stand By Me." His other feature-film credits include "Calendar Girl."
On television, O'Connell starred in the series "My Secret Identity" and "Camp Wilder" and in the Hallmark made-for-television movies "Blue River," "The Hole in the Sky" and The Room Upstairs."
O'Connell's theater credits include "The White Pony" for H.B. Studios, where he studied with Marlene Mancini and Herbert Berghof.
